KUKICHA Green Tea from Japan


Shincha is the prized first Spring harvest of green tea in Japan. This Kukicha is made from the stems of the shincha harvest, carefully separated during the production process.

Farmer Toshiaki Kinezuka is a pioneer in organic tea farming and has been connecting people and nature through all-natural tea since 1976. The Kinezuka family lives on a beautiful farm in the hills of Shizuoka, Japan. When the tea bushes are dormant in winter, the family grows and sells citrus.

The farm is now being led by Toshiaki's eldest daughter, Ayumi Kinezuka. Her passion is to keep Japanese tea traditions alive, while also gaining knowledge from other tea traditions. She studied black tea production in Sri Lanka and works alongside her father, mother, younger brother and younger sister on the farm.
